PLASTIC FREE PROGRAM

New Approach

We have been in business since 2020.

We've been in the Bow Valley since the 90's and the environmental contribution has been at the top of the list. We started by having a tray in the fridge then wrapping fish with butcher's paper. Many customers asked for a plastic bag so it is more secure to take home. We also needed to control the fish essence, and we could not put anything else in the fridge after. In order to keep the freshness and essence at bay, we have been vacuum packing our seafood as soon as it is portioned ever since.

Some like to take them home in our vacuum packs for sous vide cooking, keep them in the freezer, or take them for a long trip on ice.  Some asked us to start marinating in our sauce then vacuum pack.  We are always searching for biodegradable vacuum packs but they are not easily available.

So we are coming with the solution.  We will still use vacuum packs for the rest for freshness; however, if you join us for a plastic free program by bringing your container, we can reduce one more bag from the landfill.
